FAQ

FALL 2015 BIG REQUIREMENTS

  • Is APO Greek?
    • No. We are a fraternity insofar as we use a lot of the same terms the Greek system does (rush, pledge, etc.). Instead, we are a national organization with rituals and traditions, and there is a good sense of camaraderie and bonding amount our members. But we are not associated with IFC of Panhel in any way.
  • Do I have to go through a “rush” process to join APO?
    • Yes, but it is extremely easy and not the typical rushing process as you would participate in for Greek houses. After general interest meeting, we hold a series of “rush” events, which are open to anyone who is interested in APO. These events include service projects, fellowship events, and fishbowls.
  • Does APO haze?
    • No. Hazing is against the APO policy.
  • Does APO have a house?
    • No. Instead we have the cube!
  • I already belong to a Greek fraternity or sorority. Can I still join APO?
    • Of course! APO is open to any student on the SU or ESF campus, and since we are not Greek, joining this organization does not conflict with your ability to join.
  • What’re APO’s membership requirements?
    • To be an active member you must:
      • Complete at least 28 hours of community service
